Parallel with the Universe and Earth’s process. Winter Ice Storm of 2026 in Nashville, TN, and Neptune Enter Aries
We had an ice and snow storm across the United States main land in the past five days. In Middle Tennessee, we have had power outages and so many fallen trees, power lines and poles. People have been pushed and even traumatized by cold and extreme temperatures as well as loss of work and revenue/resources. This may mean fresh starts as Neptune enters Aries, new possibilities if considered as a silver lining with this weather event. This may sound like an unempathic response at first glance. It’s a response that involves looking at a certain concept - the concept that there is a balance of light and darkness, and that both are required for creation, and that love is the basis for creation. Facing extreme circumstances can be intense and very uncomfortable. It can force a person to come to new understandings of their values, of who they are in their character, of how to care for one’s self as well as how we show up for other Beings on this planet.
When crisis hits, some have more resources than others. Some have more resources than others, whether material or community/human, or both. Feelings may come of guilt of having what others do not, of other people or beings suffering while you are warm and fed and sheltered. This is survival guilt, and I see it every day in my office, but its everywhere right now in this crisis. Dealing with it is a balance of finding gratitude for having what you do have and allowing yourself to feel comfort in that, while also having empathy for those who don’t, and offering help if you can. But, first of all, we must care for ourselves. It’s that airplane analogy of putting the oxygen mask on yourself before your loved ones. And, it's also realizing that pain is pain, suffering is suffering. Yours is yours. It neither trumps another person’s suffering or makes your suffering less important.
The concept that we are a collective and all connected might be helpful here. If we consider this might be true, that we are connected a bit like mycelium, we feel the collective experience of crisis. If this is true, then we can ground ourselves and care for ourselves as an act of caring for the collective. We can love ourselves and those close in as a way of loving the whole.
For the last five days, and also today, I was feeling the anxiety of my own situation as well as those I am living with, and then the people around me, and the animals and trees, too. I was feeling panic inside and decided to put on some heart frequency music and sit and breathe into and out of my chest. I got grounded and felt the love inside my own heart, and then I beamed it out to those I love, and then to the collective. My attitude changed, and my creativity came back on line. I could move and breathe with ease and peace again. I could extend a hand to my neighbor and ask for help if I needed it. I felt reconnected to myself and to everything else, but not to the panic. Try this heart breathing if you want. What happens?
Can you gain the spaciousness to see the possibilities of what this may teaching you from the inside out? As painful or adverse as it may be, there is always a jewel there to be found…
